Defender Alex Bruce has completed a £200,000 move to Championship newcomers Leeds United signing a two year deal with the Yorkshire club.
Confirming the news to the Official Club Website Bruce said: "I enjoyed my time at Ipswich and the fans were fantastic to me. I wish the club every success in the future."
The son of current Sunderland boss Steve Bruce looked set to join Sheffield United last week ,but Town boss Roy Keane decided at the last minute to pull out of the deal at the previously agreed price point with the Blades refusing to increase their offer.
The Republic of Ireland international was one of eight players who were told they could leave the club earlier in the month as Roy Keane looks to clear the decks at Portman Road and spent the end of last season on loan to Leicester City.
With centre back Damien Delaney being ruled out for three months after suffering a injury in training last week, now Bruce has made the move to Elland Road it is highly likely that Town boss Roy Keane will be looking for centre back re-enforcements in the transfer market.
During his time at Portman Road 25 year old Bruce appeared in 127 games for the club, scoring thee goals and being handed 24 yellow cards whilst being sent off twice since joining from Birmingham City in 2006.
