Town have agreed a fee of £225,000 with Crystal Palace for the services of former Republic of Ireland Under 21 midfielder Owen Garvan.
Garvan is one of eight players who has been told he can leave Portman Road, and has been the subject of several reports linking him with Crystal Palace over the last fortnight, with the Selhurst Park club having had an inital bid turned down.
Former Town boss George Burley has been pursuing the Irish midfielder over the last few weeks, and in recent days stated that he was confident of landing his man, something he now appears to have done.
Speaking to the London press about the chances of signing Garvan last weeki, Burley said: "We have a number of offers in with clubs for players and loans at the moment and he is one we are very keen on.
"I'm hoping by this time next week we should have a few more in and a far clearer picture of where we are."
It is thought that Garvan has already been at Selhurst Park and is currently discussing personal terms with the London club and could be set to sign in the new few days.
